B2 Hotel Group signs on a new franchise in Rayong in concurrence with growth of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC)
Government initiative to develop a special economic zone under the name of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) has spurred increasing investment and expansion of production by both local and foreign industries. In this eastern region, Rayong province has emerged as an important destination, with high potential for the hospitality business. With a Gross Provincial Product in the top 3 nationally, Rayong boasts a strong industrial base and is home to 12 industrial estates and another assortment of 1704 factories. There is a continual influx of labor to the province, including of a highly skilled labor force like foreign engineers and industrialists. In addition to industrial growth the EEC has slated the province for development in transport and communication infrastructure as well as with several mega projects to serve the region’s economic expansion and tourism. Rayong currently has 3-5 star hotels with prices starting at about THB 1,200 per night. The occupancy figure for the 2017-2018 was approximately 60-70%.
